How to write a good AI prompt (basics)

A short beginner guide covering role, task, context and constraints — the four building blocks of any solid prompt.

#guide#beginner
## The four parts
1. Role — who should the model act as? ("You are an experienced editor.")
2. Task — what exactly do you want it to produce?
3. Context — background facts or inputs it needs.
4. Constraints — format, length, tone, things to avoid.

## Example (weak → strong)
Weak: "Write about coffee."
Strong: "As a copywriter for a specialty roastery, write 5 Instagram captions for our new single-origin blend. Audience: home brewers. Tone: warm and knowledgeable. Max 120 characters each."

## Next step
Pick a prompt from the library and rewrite it with these four parts in mind.

How to use it

  2. Copy the full content with one click, or follow the steps as written.
  3. Apply it in your tool (agent, spreadsheet, prompt) and adapt to your context.
